June, 22 — Day Two June 22, 2006

Well, I think I am ready to go public with this blog. Now to go on over to the website and write an announcement and create a link. My eyes are bugging out of my head after a day and a half on the computer but I'm having a good time.
I stopped by the studio only briefly today, had some other stuff to do. It was so peaceful and comfortable there, and still relatively tidy from last Friday's Mail Art get-together. Preparing for guests in the studio is always hairy, (I know, I know, if I didn't leave it until the last minute it wouldn't be!) but it's so worth it, not only to have the guests, but afterwards…at least until things collapse into chaos again. These regular, monthly Mail Art Parties may end up being my salvation from the chaos.
This is one of what I was working on a week or so ago, collages made of aluminum cans and other scraps of metal; I am eager
to get back to them. The market near the studio has a lot of Asian foods, including locally made tofu in bulk and about a million varieties of Pocky! And lots of drinks in very unusual and attractive aluminum cans. I have drunk some exotic stuff lately, to get the cans.
I got something extremely cool last week at a little second hand store near my house. It's at the studio just now (and my computer is at home). But I'll take a picture and show you next time. HINT: It's pink.

Whoo hoo! Great job on the site! Makes me wish I had explored WordPress. I really like your banner, great idea using the rm. # of your studio for the name of your site.
Can't wait to see how you inspire me next!
Hi Liisa, congrats on the blog. I visited your website while at work the other day and didn’t want to email from that account so sat down tonite to do that and discovered you now have a blog. Great!! I look forward to visiting often and seeing your artwork. Your mail art party sounds like a blast. I love what Mrs. Staggs did and just wish I were closer so I could join the group. Maybe one day 😉
Regarding the Asian market nearby, I can’t resist mentioning the salvage broker who is also nearby. I’m lucky to be a frequent guest at your brick-and-mortar Room 206, and I’ve learned about some of the cool stuff in your neighborhood. You have many wonderful stories to tell about Room 206…I hope you get lots of happy readers and correspondents
