Vintage Halloween Mask

Boo!

This fellow is one of a set of treasures I got a couple of years ago, just before the late, lamented 2nd Hand Hube Antique Mall closed. I sure do miss that place. Anyway, I got a bunch of these very cool vintage paper masks, made in Japan. I would guess they are from the 40s or 50s. There are 7 different characters, but this one is my favorite.

I, too, like those masks. How big are they? Show us some others.

I miss that store too. The story behind it’s closing is sad…I think about it every time I drive by and wonder what happened to the nice lady who came away with so little. I used to see her occasionally at the Goodwill treasure hunting, but I haven’t been in a long while.
Cool mask!

RGK. –They are about 5″ x 8″ in real life. A little small to wear. Maybe they wee meant for little kids?

Mrs. S.–I don’t see her either, although she said she lives in the neighborhood. I had hoped she would open a store of her own somewhere nearby.
