The Finnish Bazaar is over and I am beat. It was a fun time, as always. Good food, good stuff to buy, and I won something in a raffle! I never win things. But today I did.

I’m behind in the writing but expected that. On day four I should be up around 6,000 words and I’m just shy of 3,000. Will make it up in the next few days.

OK. Naptime.

It sounds as if there was a party at Denny’s in Ballard last night. I wish I’d gone!!

That takes care of yesterday and then some, and today is barely begun.

So far so good.

Well, I didn’t make it to a Denny’s last night. And why is that significant? Well, apparently it is a traditional kick-off to NaNoWriMo to go to your local Denny’s late on Halloween and start writing en masse at midnight. Or solo, if you happen to be the only one there, I guess. There is a Denny’s just about a mile from here, and I was planning to go to see if there was any NaNo activity, but at 11:30 I just couldn’t bring myself to go get in the car. Off to a lackluster start.

I did, however, sit down and write a few hundred words between midnight and 1 this morning. To write 50,000 words in 30 days requires about 1700 words a day, so I’ll have to give it another shot later on if I’m not going to fall behind. So far it doesn’t seem daunting, but I have a backlog of ideas saved up…who knows when they’ll run out??
